School of Civil Engineering and Intelligent Construction

College Overview

The School of Civil Engineering and Intelligent Construction, established in 2004, is one of the earliest schools of the university. Closely aligned with major national demands such as "urban renewal," "smart infrastructure," the "dual-carbon strategy," and the "Belt and Road" initiative, the school adheres to the educational philosophy of "integrating broad civil engineering with broad architecture" and has built a comprehensive talent cultivation system that spans from traditional engineering to cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields. Among its four distinctive yet synergistic majors, Civil Engineering excels in inspection and reinforcement; Intelligent Construction integrates digital intelligence and cross-disciplinary applications; Engineering Management specializes in planning and decision-making; and Engineering Cost strictly adheres to cost-effectiveness. Together, they cultivate high-quality applied engineering talents for future urban construction.

The school currently offers four undergraduate programs: Civil Engineering, Intelligent Construction, Engineering Management, and Engineering Cost, as well as two associate degree programs: Architectural Engineering Technology and Engineering Cost. The laboratory area exceeds 1,000 square meters, equipped with basic laboratories, research laboratories, virtual simulation training rooms, and a construction workshop, achieving a combination of theory and practice as well as integrated teaching and practice. The school has established practice bases with leading enterprises such as China Construction Eighth Engineering Division, Glodon, and Beijing Gouli Technology Co.,Ltd., introducing real projects and implementing "mutual appointment of teachers and joint cultivation of achievements" to achieve a seamless connection between talent cultivation and industrial needs. Graduates of the school have demonstrated competitiveness in further education and employment performance, thanks to their solid professional competence and good adaptability.

Teaching Features

The school has proposed a teaching reform concept of "Two Innovations and Three Transformations," which includes updating teaching content, innovating teaching methods, optimizing the curriculum system, strengthening practical teaching, and promoting international education.

1、Updating Teaching Content:Through close collaboration with enterprises and industry associations, the school regularly conducts surveys on professional job requirements to ensure that the educational content is closely aligned with industry needs. At the same time, the latest industry standards, technical specifications, and cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence are integrated into the teaching system, keeping the curriculum constantly synchronized with industry developments. This provides solid content support for cultivating high-quality application-oriented talents.

2、Optimizing the Curriculum System:While strengthening the learning of foundational theoretical courses, the school has taken the lead in deeply integrating AI technology into the training programs of all majors, establishing a "AI + Major" digital and intelligent curriculum system to equip students with future core competitiveness.

3、Innovating Teaching Methods:In classroom teaching, the school has transformed the traditional lecture-dominated approach by introducing games, engaging instructional videos, teaching aid demonstrations, and experiments to stimulate students' creative thinking and motivation, while strengthening their abilities in theoretical analysis and engineering application. The mindset of an engineer is integrated throughout the entire teaching process. In practical teaching sessions, students gain intuitive understanding and knowledge through experimental operations and physical teaching aids, enabling knowledge to be "heard, seen, and touched."

4、International Education:Teachers with overseas backgrounds integrate internationally advanced knowledge into their teaching. Through case-based teaching, project practice, and other methods, they help students broaden their international perspectives and master cutting-edge technologies in intelligent construction, providing strong support for the school's international development and the cultivation of interdisciplinary talents.
