Founded at the inception of Qingdao City University, the School of Foreign Languages currently offers 7 undergraduate and vocational programs, including English, German, Russian, French, International Chinese Language Education, Business English (Undergraduate), and Business English (Vocational). Covering 5 languages (English, German, Russian, French, among others), the School ranks among the top institutions of its kind in Shandong Province in terms of both language offerings and program numbers.
Integrating advanced global educational philosophies, the School has established a persified curriculum system featuring "General Education as the Foundation, Inpiduality as the Core, and Interdisciplinary Integration", with a focus on enhancing students' language proficiency, cross-cultural communication competence, critical thinking, and innovative literacy. Supported by an internationalized language environment and a collaborative education mechanism between Chinese and foreign faculty, the School is committed to cultivating application-oriented, interdisciplinary, and innovative global foreign language talents with solid linguistic foundations, broad international vision, and outstanding cross-cultural communication capabilities.
The School boasts a high-caliber international faculty team, with over 40% of its more than 140 teachers holding overseas study experience. In the past five years, faculty members have won more than 200 national and provincial awards in teaching, research, and innovation.

The first-time and cumulative pass rates of the TEM-4 and TEM-8 examinations for foreign language majors have consistently ranked among the top of similar institutions nationwide. The 2025 English major postgraduate admission rate reached an outstanding 30%, with 8 students admitted to Double First-Class universities.
The School has established an extensive academic cooperation network with more than ten renowned universities in English-speaking countries (the UK, the US, Australia) and non-English-speaking countries (Germany, France, Russia). Each year, a number of students are selected to participate in overseas academic exchanges and pursue further study abroad.

Facilities
The School of Foreign Languages is housed in European-style buildings with red roofs and green trees, nestled by the West Lake on campus. It is equipped with 48 modern multimedia classrooms, 13 digital language labs, a specialized resource library, and a foreign language FM radio station. All learning areas are centrally air-conditioned, providing students with a comfortable and focused academic environment.
