Overview
The Architecture program responds to global trends and aligns closely with national development strategies. It empowers the future development of smart cities by cultivating application-oriented architectural design professionals who meet national and regional development needs, possess an international perspective, demonstrate solid professional design skills, and exhibit strong cultural literacy and innovative thinking.
The program adopts a studio-based teaching model centered on three specialized tracks—Digital Technology and Architectural Design, Historic Building Conservation and Renewal, and Architectural Design and Professional Practice. Upholding the philosophy of "differentiated training and individualized instruction," the program guides students in shaping clear professional development pathways.
Why choosing architecture?
- Promising Career Prospects.Architecture has always played a pivotal role in national development and construction. With the evolution of the globalized and AI-driven building industry, intelligent manufacturing and industrialized construction have become mainstream. As repetitive labor is rapidly replaced, architectural design—characterized by creative intellectual work—will continue to offer strong prospects and long-term vitality.
- Innovative Talent Development Model. The Architecture curriculum follows a "student-centered, competency-based" approach aimed at maximizing each student's potential. Teaching emphasizes personalized learning, recognizing individual differences and focusing on the student's learning experience and personal growth.
- Junior-level courses aim to "spark interest, encourage hands-on experimentation, build foundational knowledge, cultivate good habits, broaden horizons, and establish goals."
- In senior-level courses, beyond core professional knowledge, the curriculum places even greater emphasis on skill development and overall competency enhancement.
- Diverse Training Features. The program aims to cultivate well-rounded professionals equipped with international perspectives, digital literacy, practical skills, and comprehensive competencies. It features a diversified curriculum structure and bilingual instruction, and introduces advanced modules such as parametric design and BIM to strengthen students' interdisciplinary capabilities and overall professional qualities.
- Strong Faculty Team. Many members hold top-tier national credentials, including Class 1 Registered Architect and Registered Urban Planner qualifications, demonstrating exceptional professional competence. In recent years, the school has further elevated its academic profile by recruiting internationally trained PhD scholars and inviting distinguished architects and planners from China and abroad to serve as adjunct professors. This continuously expanding and dynamic faculty team ensures that students learn from leaders in the field and gain access to cutting-edge expertise and industry insight.

Message from the Program Director
“Architecture is one of the rare disciplines in universities that truly bridges the arts and the sciences. With one hand, it wields the artistic pen that sketches the poetry of human civilization; with the other, it holds the technological ruler that measures the pulse of future cities. In the interplay between humanistic depth and engineering precision, the program cultivates professional architects who use design as a sharp instrument to diagnose urban challenges and reshape spatial order through creative solutions.
As the driving force at the heart of the broader built-environment industry, architecture equips graduates with cross-disciplinary competitiveness, exceptional professional qualities, noble character, and a strong sense of social responsibility.
Choosing and embracing architecture means becoming a practitioner who transforms the urban landscape—turning visions on paper into the reality we inhabit.”
