Overview

Based on mechanical design and manufacturing, this major integrates knowledge from computer science, information technology, automatic control technology and other fields, and embeds the engineering education accreditation curriculum system into the training program. It gathers high-quality resources from home and abroad, fully reflecting the talent training philosophy of "innovative, application-oriented and interdisciplinary" that emphasizes "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and focusing on competence development".

Among the full-time teachers, 39.5% hold associate senior titles or above, 78.9% have a master's degree or above, and 47.4% are "double-qualified" teachers, forming a rationally structured teaching team. Teachers have won 1 second prize of Shandong Provincial Teaching Achievement Award, 1 second prize and 6 third prizes of Shandong Provincial Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Awards.

The major has advanced mechatronics training conditions, which can meet students' in-depth learning needs in mechanical innovative design, intelligent manufacturing training, industrial robot application, CNC system development, reverse engineering research and other aspects. It has been approved as an Engineering Research Center of Shandong Provincial Colleges and Universities and a Demonstration Internship (Training) Base of Shandong Provincial Regular Institutions of Higher Education. Through forms such as the second classroom and open laboratories, it stimulates students' enthusiasm for independent learning and enhances their employability.

The major has successively organized students to participate in various innovative competitions, including the "Challenge Cup" National Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition for College Students, the National College Students' Advanced Graphics Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition, and the National 3D Digital Innovation Design Competition. It has won more than 230 national and provincial discipline competition awards, achieving fruitful results through promoting teaching and learning via competitions.
