Overview
Environmental Art Design is a vocational program offered by Qingdao City University, with interior design as its main professional direction. Students will master the basic theoretical knowledge and professional skills of environmental art design, learn interior design and construction methods, and be able to independently design environmental art design project plans. The major features project-based teaching, a high-quality teaching team, and professional laboratories to enhance students' design and practical abilities, cultivate environmental art designers who are adaptable to regional economic development and industry needs, and have a sense of social responsibility.

- Teachers have participated in more than 10 municipal level and above research projects, such as the Shandong Provincial Cultural and Tourism Research Project, the Qingdao Social Science Planning Research Project, and the Qingdao "Double Hundred Survey Project". They have also been involved in 10 social service projects, including the construction of new school campuses and the Jimo Public Welfare Library;
- In the past two years, teachers have guided students to win 40 national and provincial awards in professional competitions such as the Cross Strait Emerging Design Competition · Huacan Award, Future Designer · National University Digital Art Design Competition, and China Good Creativity and National Digital Art Design Competition;
- Provide advanced laboratory and processing equipment such as woodworking laboratory, material library, pottery studio, 3D printer, laser engraving machine, and CNC machine tool to help students explore the expression of their works through diverse means;

Knowledge and Skills
Graduates of this major will possess the following abilities:
- Master the relevant knowledge of composition methods, formal beauty rules, and color design.
- Master the professional knowledge of environmental art design, including design history, design methods, design concepts, design principles, materials and configurations, and possess the ability to understand contemporary environmental design theory critically and creatively.
- Ability to conduct data retrieval and analysis in the field of environmental design theory and practice.
- Proficient in using computer-aided design software such as Auto CAD/Photoshop/Sketch Up/3Ds Max/Lumion, able to draw construction drawings and renderings that comply with national drafting standards.
- Ability to flexibly apply theoretical knowledge to design practice and propose creative and competitive solutions in design work.
- Ability to participate in environmental art design projects and drive project development.
- Having the adaptability and work ability required to work in teams of different natures.

After graduating from the Environmental Art Design major, students can work in professional positions related to interior design, landscape design, furniture design, and other industries, including design assistants, interior designers, construction drawing deepening designers, landscape designers, soft decoration designers, furniture designers, and other positions.
