Center Overview
The Green City & Carbon Neutral Centre aims to become an international research centre within the field of green development and carbon neutrality. It is currently working the goals of 2030 Carbon Peak and 2060 Carbon Neutral in helping Chinese cities achieve sustainable development. The Centre has established long-term research relationships with German universities, companies, experts, and professors. It also takes multidisciplinary approach to exploring green, sustainable and high-quality development models, methods and technologies for cities.

MA Architecture, University of Hannover (Germany), under the tuition of Klaus Trojan, a famous Germany urban design planner, Professor of the Institute of Urban Planning at the University of Hannover.
PhD in Architecture at the University of Hannover (Germany), under the tuition of Magita Buchert, Professor fo the 21st Century Architecture and Theory Institute, School of Architecture

25 years’ experience in Germany, the Netherlands and China
Viewpoint: Achieving China’s carbon neutrality goals and coping with global climate challenges requires the development of the whole industry, green technology, and cooperation. It also requires innovative, cirtical, international and systematic thinking to take advantage of global capabilities and strengths to succeed.
Field Research
The centre’s research focus is on the environmental and sustainability of cities. We are researching ways in which to bring about a more sustainable future and integrate green technology into urban design and living.
Featured Themes
Two key themes running parallel in our research is green city design and carbon neutral technology. Green city design includes green planning, urban greening while carbon neutral technology is about finding methods of carbon reduction.
